Monitoring WASH facilities by students
School children acquire their hands-on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) education by having access to adequate sanitation and hygiene facilities in school. Unfortunately, most schools lack these basic facilities to support the students’ sanitation necessities.
To formulate a monitoring system capturing the WASH condition, particularly in public schools. Availability of mobile phones, social media and reporting platforms will be necessary for such application.
This will raise awareness and will identify sanitation conditions in different schools. The report will be a practical tool for local governments and NGO/private partners in tracking and supporting sanitation projects in schools. IT Solution: The system needs an application where students report sanitation conditions in their schools. The same application can also be used to generate a report that can be accessed publicly, thus giving a snapshots of school sanitary conditions .
