Toilet Locator in public places and vote for its sanitation cleanliness.
Public toilets are often not well maintained due to lack of accountability of service providers to clients. At the same time, clients don’t have the opportunity to provide feedback. Basic information about toilet locations may be available, yet no additional information about cleanliness or a user rating system.
To create a mobile application for tablets and smart phones that will enable people to find toilets nearby, and then take photos, share, rate and comment on its condition. The mobile app should also enable user to provide direction, nearby landmarks and information on toilet facilities (soap, toilet paper, hand dryer, etc.). The app should be linked with social media to leverage publicity and raise awareness.
Awareness on sanitation and hygiene, especially regarding cleanliness and upkeep of public toilets remains low in Philippines. Through this application, the general public can get actively involved through feedback to those managing public toilets.
