Poor sanitation in riverine char of Bangladesh: A case study
Open latrine is common in all around the riverine char. This practice as well as lack of sanitation knowledge create unhygienic situation.
This is basically behavioral problem. They are adopted the behavior inherently. They think it is natural, not a problem and it is ususual. So the challenges are to change the behavior, create awareness and make finance to construct hygiene latrine.
Ensure youth involvement to create awareness regarding existing behavior. Technical and educated youth as a human resource, fund to mobilize the youth team.
GIS map may be produce to identify the location of the latrine. Collecting fund from NGOs, GOs by angagement of youth and build sanitary latrine because poor char people are unable to manage the fund. Hacked solution can be made a bridge between local youth and others organization regarding fund mobilization.
