In many parts of Indonesia, people don’t wash their hands with soap regularly, especially after using public toilets. That is partly due to bad behavior, partly because properly functioning hand washing facilities are not always available.
Needs statement
Create a ‘warning’ system that reminds people to wash their hands with soap after using the toilet. The system should also monitor the usage of hand washing facilities and allow feedback for the users.
Impact statement
Improving hand washing behavior can in fact prevent diarrhea diseases, which is the main cause of death for children under 5.
